Tri Nations
An annual rugby union competition, the Tri Nations is a series held between New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. Games are played in a round-robin format and teams play each other three times, for a total of nine matches during the competition. The tournament typically begins in early July and ends in September. Sportsnet World carries approximately six live matches.
Super 15
Super Rugby is a rugby union tournament involving 15 provincial teams from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The Blues, Brumbies, Bulls, Cheetahs, Chiefs, Crusaders, Highlanders, Hurricanes, Lions, Melbourne Rebels, Reds, Sharks, Stormers, Waratahs, and Western Force compete in a conference format over the course of the season. Sportsnet World shows 2 matches live on most weekends during the season.
Currie Cup
The Currie Cup is a South African provincial championship and is run by the South African Rugby Football Union. The top four teams with the most points will play against each other in a semifinal. The EDF Energy Cup is commonly known as the Anglo-Welsh Cup and is the English rugby union knockout cup competition, allowing entrants from all members of the Rugby Football Union. The sixteen clubs are placed in four pools each with three English clubs and one Welsh club.
